HOW A DSIGNER START HIS BUSINESS
As a designer, Martin is working on apparel design for cloth wholesalers. The first time I met him was at the Canton Fair and we had a quick conversation.
After around one year, he emailed me that he had quit his job and decided to start his own business. Then after a time, he created his own brand, and desperately wanted my help. His first inquiry was about 20 designs, but the problem was he only needed 50 pcs/design, which is below the MOQ in any factor.
I emailed him this fact and he replied ‘I know the quantity is too small, and to be honest, I’ve been refused by many suppliers. However, I need to test the market. Could you please give me a chance? I have the confidence to grow soon.’ We were touched by his sincerity and decided to help him. To support him, we had a meeting for this unprofitable project. We believed in him, just as we did when we grew from a small company.
Our factory worked overtime in order not to delay his process. After around 15 days, we ship the products to him by fast delivery. He was shocked by our high efficiency, delivering products in such a short time with great quality. I didn’t expect that he contacted me again within a week, and he had a new order which could reach the MOQ.
Since then, we established long-term cooperative relations and he has placed orders every month. This is our third year working with Martin, and due to our support, his business has grown very quickly with gained brand popularity in the market.
Nowadays, he has placed a $200,000 order with us which has great progress, and our relationship is very stable. Through this experience, our company always adhered to the tenet of ‘customer first’. We are glad to make progress with customers, even if you just start a business, we will do our best to help you.
